Service Description

This course introduces you to the diversity, biology, and study of ants. You will explore all 24 ant subfamilies, learn to use resources like AntCat, AntWeb, AntWiki, and iNaturalist, master reading dichotomous keys, and understand key aspects of ant morphology for identification. You will also study differences between male and female ants and examine ant-plant interactions and other symbiotic relationships. Finally, You will learn the basics of preserving ants, contacting myrmecologists, and will have the opportunity to create and have a collection graded by an expert entomologist.
