Investigating Ants, Their Importance, Impact, and Diversity
I have traveled all around the US to look for ants and have taken pictures along the way. During this investigation, I have searched for ants in 7 states.
I have been studying ants since I was in 7th grade, and since then I have noticed a major disconnect between ants and our society. I wanted to perform my AP Investigation on ants. Specifically, I wanted to look into ants' ecological Impact and importance; I also wanted to investigate ants' behavioral and morphological diversity. To do this I split my Investigation into 2 parts, seen below. Part 1 focuses on morphology and diversity and part 2 delves deep into the human perception and impact of ants. Ants are often overlooked and my goal for this project is to bring greater awareness to ants and their importance, as well as help change our perception towards them.

Ants, Lives, and Diversity
The 1st half of my investigation studies ants, so look forward to various different species highlighted along the way. You'll see species ranging from Colorado, to Utah, California, and Texas.
Impact, Importance, and Perception
How do humans impact ants? In what ways do we perceive them? can we change this? The 2nd half of the investigation focuses on these questions
